Free cycling safety beacon for schools, clubs, family and friends

Track My Velo allows parents, spouses, friends and followers of the members of a cycling group to track their location in real time as they go on a cycle ride. When the ride starts, a web link is sent via SMS to the registered followers of each of the riders included in the group. Those followers can open that link to watch the ride unfold on a map using a browser on any desktop, laptop or mobile device.

Suitable for schools, cycling groups and clubs, it recognises that although rides are often composed from the same group of people, it’s not always clear until the last minute who is coming on the ride. Track My Velo makes it easy to quickly select the riders that are in your group, and send the beacon link to only the followers of those riders. This can be done in the last seconds before the ride starts.

A free web-based maintenance portal is provided for easy maintenance of teams, riders, and parent/guardian contact numbers.

The app also allows separate groups of related riders to find one another even if they set off from different places and at different times. This can be helpful when a large group of athletes is split into smaller bunches and head off in different directions on a training day.

Once recorded, the ride routes can be replayed and also downloaded in GPX format, suitable for upload to a wide variety of health/athletic applications.
